Athenisms.

while I was cooking dinner this boy had a book of school paper. one little boy who was supposed to be writing his letters was instead cutting paper into pieces and using a glue stick to glue the pieces to his head. these are his "ear muffins"  also known to most of us as ear muffs.

*where do they get their ideas?

H: Athen sounds like you have a frog in your throat. Does your throat hurt?
A: yeah, it kind of feels all funkied up and twisted.

*didn't hear those words from mom

remembering.

Remembering this little moment in life.

 miss M. she loves everything that belongs to her brother.
sometimes it is a green t-shirt. sometimes it is the white and blue tennis shoes. tonight a bike helmet.

the boy turns 4.

the boy turns 4 today. to celebrate we had his first official birthday party.
this boy is a little of every color. so a colorful birthday seemed just right.

a painting party is what we had. haven't heard of one? us either. 

we made it up as we planned. painted canvas. the boys own creation. painted ice cream with food coloring. silly string and pin the paint on the pallet. finger paint favors.

a big hug and kiss followed the words "thanks mom for my party!"

at age 4 Athen loves:
+ to play sports; especially football and soccer                                        +  to write "podums" - poems
+ going to sporting events with dad                                                         + preschool
+ Iron Man                                                                                                 + spell and write his name
+ Book of Mormon Stories                                                                         + shredded wheat cereal
+ the color green                                                                                       + playdoh

GLOW sticks.

a GLOW stick bath tonight. something new. something fun.

SO much fun that we will try more GLOW stick adventures in the future.

currently my own obsession with chalk. chalk in any color and chalk boards of all kinds.

sidewalk chalk satisfied my craving for the day.

a love note. a little hopscotch. today's quiet time well spent.
