Blessing Day.

Today we blessed baby number three. My sweet babe dressed in white was given a name and blessing.
Her blessing was sweet and I was touched by the Spirit as I listened to the words. A divine woman she will be. Blessed am I to be her mother, to learn from her and be touched by her example.

Abby's Blessing:
Heavenly Father has been waiting to give you this blessing
Know the joy you'll bring to others. Especially your siblings
Long productive life
A life that will bring happiness to others and a countenance that will be an up lifter to others
Like your father you will help othes smile and feel good knowing they are God's children
An understanding + testimony of Jesus Christ
Adhere to what you are taught by your parents
A desire to follow your Heavenly Father
Choose to be good and righteousness
The adversary will look to trip you up but you are blessed with the courage, ability, and strength to thwart off the fiery darts of Satan
Physical strength and stamina as you encounter life's trials
Knowledge that your Heavenly Father loves you

A Birth.

Abby Jane Harris.
2:04 am May 6, 2013.
8 lbs 0.3 ounces.
21 inches.
She's here. The sweet babe that I kept secret for so long. Weeks ago we thought she might come but didn't. She's finally here and the rest is in the past. Her name somehow we knew from the very beginning. Abby Jane. plain and simple. Her birth just as exciting as the others. Contractions strong and hard, delivery seemed unbearable, but really it was all but a moment in time.  However painful, it is still my favorite part of welcoming a new child. That feeling when you look upon your new baby for the first time. The sacrifice you make for months and the sacrifices and memories we'll make for years to come seem to make me love the sweet babe even more.

This time it was just she and I for a while. Tim was there to welcome her, but she and I got to bond all alone snuggling and nursing for hours knowing that it was precious time before the big kids would interrupt.
Even though she is so new she knows me. Knows I'm her mom and there are feelings of a little special bond between mother and daughter.

A Boy + His Bike.

This is no ordinary bike. Its a trick bike, a dirt bike, a power ranger motorcycle. It can do tricks, go off jumps, and makes lots of noise. There are exclamations I hear like:
"Beaver dirt bike!", "Oh yeah baby!", "Go power rangers!", "Did you see that!".
It's all the exploration of one creative imagination.
He is skilled. More than I thought he would be.  He's fast and he's fearless. I assume that's why riding a bike comes naturally to him. Jumps can never be to high for his desire, but it makes my heart a little uneasy. I still can't let go of the little boy that entered my life five years ago and accept that he is growing up.
