Athen Bitner Harris

February 22, 2008 we welcomed a new addition to our family, Athen Bitner Harris. Born at 6:45 pm, 7 lbs 15 ounces and 20 1/4 inches long. Athen had a tramatic delivery that consisted of two vacuums and forceps. Because of this, 2 hours after he was born the nurse and doctor submitted him into the special care nursery for some good watching. They were concerned at first that something might be wrong with his oxygen and lungs, but after x-rays and tests everything appeared normal. By the time these results were back we found out that he was jaundice and he was also being x-rayed for reflux (which he does have). Friday night, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday Athen was in the nursery. He gave the nurses a run for their money with his very strong lungs but come to find out he just wanted to be held. Tuesday morning we had hopes of our little boy coming home, I stayed in bed trying to not become to anxious to call the hospital to find out. To my surprise the phone rang and the nurse informed me that he was being discharged!!! So he is now home in our arms and care with his bili blanket to still fight his jaundice. We enjoy every second that we can look at his handsome face and cuddle his small body. However since he was in the nursery the doctor has requested that we not take him out for 2 months due to flue season. Visitors also must be breif and healthy.

The very start of my labor, sure I was happy at the start it didn't hurt then! Tim was great to be by my side the entire time.

Okay now the contractions were starting to hurt...

My handsome dad to be...

I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for the wonderful man he has blessed me with to be my companion for time and eternity. He is a handsom humble man, whom recognizes his life is greatly blessed by the Lord. He is an example to many, one of whom is myself. He is a man with a testimony of the gospel that can compare to no other.

Tim prepared the first mean in our new apartment of 2008. Gourmet "white trash" burritos! They were perfect!

Merry Christmas

Tim and I had a wonderful Christmas with the Dorman clan. Tim spoiled me rotten, showering me with gifts. What a guy!

Here is Tim with his remote control helicopter, we took them to the church building so the boys could fly them around in the gym. Thanks mom and dad Dorman! Following the helicopter flying the boys played some basketball.

At Brandon and Emily's house the boys all enjoyed a big game of Age of Empires. Do we have enough computers in one room?

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Oregon with Ben & Claudia, Nate & Miley, Gabe & Dave, and were able to spend quality time with our neices, Taylor and McKay. They sure love their Uncle Tim!

McKay was sure to give Tim lots of practice with poopy diapers! He is going to be a great Dad!

Happy Halloween

The Two best "Pees in a Pod"
For Halloween we attended a family get together with food, music, games, and movies. Thanks Jonathan and Melissa! The best part was each kid in their costumes.
