5 weeks and counting...

No not five weeks until Tim is done at the academy... How I wish... But just as exciting as that would be, we only have 5 weeks and a couple days until our house will be finished. It is scheduled to be complete on November 3rd. So here is the update. Siding & molding done, doors in, walls are sheet rocked and textured all of that is ready to be painted this up coming week. Our beautiful rod iron banister has been started and this next week they are scheduled to along with painting put in the cabinets and start hard surface things.. I think that means, floors, counter tops, fireplace mantle etc. So with all that information here are the pictures....

Toy vs. Box....

Who needs toys mom.. just give me that box! I love the fact that no matter what toy we give to Athen it just doesn't interest him too much. But give him a box and he'll have a blast. Guess we could save a lot of money in the toy department. Ü

The football, the house...

Tim sure lucked out that the ward we moved into here in Pasco has an Elders Quorum that gets together every other weekend to play flag football. Could there have been a better fit? So one of our weekend activities is watching daddy play football. Athen loves to watch the guys run around and now that he is army crawling he thought he might go out and play.

THE HOUSE....We are happy to announce that we have been informed that our house will be finished the first week in November. This will be perfect for our very first Thanksgiving with Athen and our new house.

This last week they put the drywall up. Here is Athen and I sitting on our stairs. There will be a rod iron with cherry wood banister. Also this is our downstairs family room. The fireplace will have a cherry wood mantel that will match the banister and the kitchen cabinets. It was pretty exciting to walk into the house this week and see the actual rooms walled off. Last week the walls were still just studs and we could see through to every room.

Doing the Puyallup...

Each September in Puyallup, WA is the Puyallup Fair. Athen and I were able to "Do the Puyallup" while visiting Grandma and Grandpa Dorman. Athen loved the lights, the sounds, the smells, the animals, and all the people.
Athen got a tattoo of paw prints on his arm. His cousin Sam got a shark. Athen could have cared less, but it was free and we thought dad would think it was cool.

Not much can beat a warm summer night at the fair with all the rides lit up.

Surprise Grandma...

September 8th was Grandma Dorman's birthday. Since Athen and I don't have daddy to take care of during the week we decided to drive to Tacoma and surprise Grandma. So Monday morning my brother Brandon, his wife Emily, and two boys, Sam and Jackson, Athen and I surprised Grandma at the school during her lunch break.

My Mowers...

Every Friday when Tim returns home, his first job is mowing the lawn. Athen loves to watch the lawn mower and usually sits outside to watch dad. But this Friday we thought we would let Athen get some first hand experience.

Three weeks down...

Three weeks down and 16 more to go... I bet if I didn't count the weeks until Tim was done with the academy it would go faster. However I have an obsession with countdowns. I remember I had started counting down days till our wedding with about 130 days to go. I also would count down the minutes at a particular job that I did not enjoy. Anyhow, we get closer to having him home everyday.
This last week to help pass the time Athen and I took a trip to visit in Tacoma. While there Athen had plenty of time to get to know his cousins Sam and Jackson a little better...

We assume Athen will enjoy being the big brother and picking on younger siblings, since he has started early with cousins.

Mom wasn't getting the food fast enough, I guess Sam started to look appetizing to Athen.

This week as we went by to check the progress on our house, we forgot our camera, since last picture, the roof and trim is finished, the windows and sliding back door are in, the plumbing is almost complete, bathtubs and showers are installed, and the furnace and heating was being installed. We'll post pictures as soon as we get some.
